A museum that brings together
The shipyard was founded in 1946 by 20 people from the village: 16 men and 4 women who invested a thousand dollars to build it. The tone was forever set. Inheriting this sense of community, the Museum animates the heart of the coastal village of Saint-Joseph-de-la-Rive with festive events.
On Sundays, June 5, July 3, August 7, September 4 and October 2, 2022, the Museum is free for all Quebec residents. Open to the river with its schooners, its shipyard, its exhibitions and its park, the Museum joins this initiative of the Ministère de la Culture et des Communications which aims to ensure accessibility to Quebec culture everywhere and for the benefit of all.
